Jeez! The popup windows are all over the place, and viewing any of them gives "page not found". Horrible! Stay away!

Hmm... I think you're right on this one, and you do need the \ before the space, otherwise it'll treat "Folder" as an argument, and not as part of the name of "System Folder" which could be a real problem if Folder is a valid argument.

I've got a current model Mac Mini that I'd like to connect to a non-HD television via Component cable. I have an DVI-Mini Display Port adapter which was purchased from a third party as well as a DVI-Component adapter that came with it. Here are some photos:

Aside from a Component cable to connect to the TV, anything else I might need for this to work successfully?
Thanks!

What will you be using it for? I always suggest the Mac mini as the "switcher machine." But a Power Mac G4 will also be nice, especially since it is easy to upgrade.

Oh, above, when I said, "Play fast," I meant in relation to the normal game on Dragon Go Server. Since the games are correspondence games, anything faster than one move a day can probably be considered "fast". Sorry if there was any confusion. I didn't want you to mistakenly think I meant, "Don't think about your moves and just go fast."

Google search for whichever ipsw you want. A number of websites post d/l links direct from apple's server.
You still have to install through iTunes. Press option plus restore to open the dialog box.

In NZ you can buy them from http://www.photo.co.nz/newprods/newcrumpler.htm and they seem to be wierdly a lot cheaper than the aussie crumpler website prices, but I'm not complaining :) I think they do international shipping and take the gst (tax) off the price, so I guess it would depend on how much shipping costs to see if it was worth getting sent to where ever you live. I have a crumpler sheep scarer for my 12" powerbook and its great. Carrys my lunch, powerbook, wallet, some thin notebooks and a jersey. My b'friend has been looking at either a very busy man or a wack-o-phone for his 15" powerbook. From looking at them I would prefer to have a wack-o-phone for a 12" cos the very busy man seems quite large, but it depends how large your binder and books are. The wack-o-phone seems to have comparable space to my sheep scarer. There are lots of reviews online if you search on google and I remember reading another good review on these forums. Only problem I have with mine is that it zips at the back so its a real pain if you want to get your wallet or anything out quickly as you have to take the whole thing off to get anything out. Might get a Weetons to fix this problem.

Hi,
I have an ftp upload problem. Ive had it ever since I bought my first mac, a powerbook, a year ago. I first trying using several free ftp programs (+ Transmit), but everytime i would upload a file to a folder it would just freeze immediately. so i went and bought Cute FTP Mac cause the demo rid this problem, but not entirely. It freezes immediately, but when I close connection and connect again, everything works. So now i have gotten into the habit of 'uploading, it freezing, me closing and re-opening the connection', and then it working. This is a really long and annoying way to go about things. Anybody have a clue as to what is going on?

Is anyone using a bluetooth headset with their 4th Gen iPod Touch? Which models work?
I am looking to use it for some Ustreaming and it would be ideal if I could use the mic from a bluetooth headset to provide the audio.
It seems like most of the questions around the forums are for older generations and was surprised to find very little information on the topic.

Thanks for the info!
It is a new permanent color! :)
I think those Amazon resellers didn't get the memo on it yet.
I feel sorry for people who are going to pull a "PS3" and buy one to try to sell on eBay as "Limited" - or maybe even more so for the people fooled into buying from them...

One thing to be leery of is, yes keep your original ram and if you bring it in for Applecare, make sure to put the original ram back in laptop.
What often happens is the person servicing your laptop will restore it to original specs. So if you machine is a 4GB machine, they might take out your 8GB trash it and put in their 4GB so it matches the computer build. I've read many stories on these forums of people losing their expensive harddrive or ram and got back stock items.

I may go there or to Tice's. It's not as busy at Tice's. GS Plaza is a mad house on the weekends and I can't imagine it at an event like this.
I need to pick up a power adapter that was ordered for me by the "Genius" at Tice's.
Wherever I am, I'm the guy with long hair.

Is this the one by Hudson too? They don't normally develop poo. Another game I wasn't planning on getting gets a bad score :o I wish they stuck this into a Wii- generation game (Wii Fly?), gave it a decent multiplayer and then it might have appeal.

Come on Will - you know you want one!! Just give into the inevitable....
I bought the first gen a year ago and never regretted it ( sold it on eBay before the new one was announced :-)) it is by far the best gadget I have ever owned and believe me I have tried many! I even had a brief flirtation with a Galaxy Tab over recent weeks - but it only took me a few days before I gave up and stuck it back on eBay! Once you have tasted Apple other fruits taste just bland ;-)
I can't wait to get the new one particularly for AirPlay with my Apple TV.
I would be going to Bristol if I wasn't working today. Hope that there might be one with my name on somewhere in London.
One last small point - can you veleive that Orange block this site on my iPhone because they say it is "adult content" that really annoys me - it wouldn't happen on my 3 SIM used in my iPad!
Ring orange up and say you want adult content turned off, I think you can do it without speaking to a human also ;)
No but seriously, it's not just porn they block, they block many other sites under that stupid block.

Samsung's new "Super" AMOLED are actually somewhat visible outside. They are an improvement in that respect. Besides that, it will have inferior color reproduction and (IMO) over-saturated colors.
oh, so you've seen both screens already?
