Very interesting..
"Dropbox" -vs- "Drop Box"
Hmmm, think that the slight difference in name means not THE Dropbox?

Do u think there will be any iTunes podcast for MWSF 08 immediately as they post the webcast? hope they don't post it as late like last year.

Wasteland serves two main purposes. One, as an example to others. Two, so that people know where their threads have gone. It takes about five seconds to move a thread in there.
In many cases, deleting threads can make more work because the thread starter can often contact mods asking where their thread has disappeared to.

Hi guys,
I've just reset my dad's iPhone and synced it with his Exchange account, since all the contacts are there. The issue is that the default way of adding contacts to the iPhone (via the recent calls or the dialer) saves the contacts locally.
Is there any good way to have the contacts saved by default to the Exchange instead?
On a side note, opening the contacts and adjusting it slightly is very slow.
Thanks in advance!

I am planning to Switch (upgrade) from PC to Mac but I still need to run some PC programs.
The only thing I hear about Virtual PC is that its terrible slow.
I am planning to put 2 Gigas of ram on my new Imac 20".
1 giga dedicated to the Virtual PC.
Does anybody has an experience if by doing this I should see a lot of performace Gain on Virtual PC?
Iam not planning to run games just normal applications (some design an graphics) but I need to run them on PC envieroment to ensure compatibility.
Thanks in advance for advice.

a cool key combo i accadentially discovered not to long ago is the command + ~ this will cycle through the open windows of the current program. so if you have 3 windows in safari open it will only cycle through them and not go to another program.
Actually its the ` not ~, since ~ would require the Shift key :D
Here's a bunch more you can accidently discover too ;)

...Macromedia and Adobe need to forget their past and make things work.
That's an interesting and possibly controversial statement.
Putting Macromedia to one side... what beef do you have with Adobe?
Any apps in particular? And where does the past come into it?
Only curious 'cos Adobe are the people I rely on to get work done...

The service is great...
Its not like they require you to read all the posts or anything. I say take what you can get if its free, and don't take what you don't need if it annoys you.

I did but sorta regret it ... it's not SO unstable that it's unusable, but some features such as no Rosetta and the few bugs that make it annoying to use, do make me regret upgrading. Thankfully updates are coming regularly so things are only improving, and I dual-boot into W7 whenever something needs to get done bug-free.

i too am still a beginner at photography but it to me, it seems like the plants in the foreground of the first picture just get in the way. They seem to hide part mountain. i sorta don't know whether i should be looking at the mountain or the plants in front of it.
and you are right, it is a beautiful country. hope to one day visit it

Description:: Somewhere, in recent updates to Safari 5.0 (included in the 10.6.4 update), something went wrong with the way applications pass text to each other. A post at MacFixIt suggests that the fault lies with WebKit, which is now using rgb(0,0,0) as the value for the CSS background-color property for messages. Whatever the cause, the fix is much easier than some published workarounds suggest...

And not only Excel, but to 100% guarantee things look the same, you need to use the PC version (if you're dealing with PC customers) and you need to make sure you use a font that they have, the same screen resolution they are running, etc.
That's a good point. I have no problems myself, but it's not 'mission critical' stuff where I'm emailing reports to customers, etc. I have a Mac and my co-workers have PC's, and we have had no problems with inter-office compatibility.

If the stick physically fits, then it won't cause harm.
At best, it'll work great, running the stick out of spec.
At worst, the PC won't boot with the 'wrong' stick in there.
Most likely (all this is assuming a 'wrong' stick,) it will boot, but will boot slower than you want. For example, if it has an 866MHz processor, it might only boot at 650Mhz. (Because, for example, it uses a 133Mhz bus, and you put 100Mhz RAM in, so it would run the processor at only a 100MHz bus, dropping it's speed accordingly.)
Or, with lots of motherboards, the processor speed and RAM speed were independent, so it would run just fine, but the memory would run at the 'lowest common denominator' speed. This is especially true of newer DDR motherboards.
so basically, if the stick fits, and its faster than the memory the computer takes, it will clock down. I dont think that will be the case, the memory is older. I am just going to throw it in. I just dont want to ruin the computer, still need it for school.

Thanks for your help.
If I can't get the upgrade I'm just going to buy an external HD and make it a network drive. That would work quite well. If you don't mind a non-portable drive (and it sounds like you don't), you'll get a lot more for your money (vs a portable drive).
