By no problem, do you mean that you feel no difference between 10.6 an 10.7?
Well the cursor is not as fast as in Windows, but it's managable.
It means that the cursor movement is not linear to the mouse movement. Google it and you will see that it's a huge issue for people that want to game on their Macs, especially for Windows switchers that are not used to it. The worst part is that there is no setting in OS X to remove it.
Here are two images that illustrate it (from a 3rd party software that removes the acceleration)
Without this program: http://triq.net/files/gallery/snip2.png With this program: http://triq.net/files/gallery/snip1.png
I am begging Lion to have an option to turn mouse acceleration off. I've tried most of these 3rd party programs, and they don't really help. It really affects how well you can play RTSs and FPSs. Please, Apple, just give up an option like Windows does!

Well, there may be lines, but unless apple manages to get enough to AT&T to cover all the pre-orders and then some, it might all be for naught...

My mouse (Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0) show far less mouse acceleration in Lion compared to Snow Lion.
I haven't read anything about this so I guess it's something on my end? Or does other people get similar behavior in Lion?
No problems with my Magic Mouse.
Crazy question, but is it still slow after adjusting tracking to Fast in system preferences?

Not sure why you didn't just call Monoprice and ask them, and the product page itself says "does not support audio"
Not sure why you didn't just move along instead of posting a snide comment. I read the product review and saw a variety of answers. I came here to confirm them
I have a Monoprice adapter that DID NOT carry audio, just video to my TV from my i5 2.4 MBP. You have the same generation MBP, albeit a 2.53, so your mac has that ability.
I ended up picking this adapter from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CK8TZ8
This one will carry audio & video. Works perfectly and looks pretty cool too. Not as cheap as monoprice, but does the job.
I read that you have to go to sound in system preferences and change the output to tv once you hook the cord up. Can you confirm that works?

My friend texted me asking if I wanted an old iMac for free, I obviously said yes. It is a snow 600MHz iMac G3 with 512MB of RAM, 40GB HD, and it works wonderfully. I'm currently looking for my 10.4 disks and going to install Tiger on it. Can't wait.

This sounds like such a scam.
At first thats what i thought , though i think the OP is just trying to buy loads to sell in Israel but has realised he has got himself into a sticky situation once he realised its only 2 per customer.
To OP have you tried calling ALL best buys in Manhattan ?

both those mics are condensers, yes? it looks like that m-audio interface has only a single channel that can handle condensers. is this an acoustic or electric guitar?
equipment aside, separation is the biggest challenge you'll face playing an acoustic and singing simultaneously. i think it's a great way to record a track, but just be aware that you can't really overdub one of the parts and keep the other.

An actual news worthy Mac malware story:
http://m.krebsonsecurity.com/2011/05/weyland-yutani-crime-kit-targets-macs-for-bots/
Apparently, this malware toolkit, referred to as "Weyland-Yutani Bot" (WYB), is capable of aiding the production of malware to turn Macs into bots. But, this is not the most dangerous aspect of this toolkit. WYB also facilitates form grabbing, using a man-in-the-browser technique, to collect usernames and passwords during Firefox or Chrome browser sessions. This is basically the Mac version of the Zeus toolkit.
This is a more significant threat than MACDefender, a recent rogue AV malware, because WYB collects data from browser sessions rather than by tricking the user to give up their credit card number. Also, WYB allows more rapid development of malware variants so the amount of malware for Macs will increase at a faster pace as this toolkit and others like it that target Macs become more prevalent.
Malware derived from WYB needs to be installed with elevated privileges to be able to collect sensitive data. The malware uses social engineering to trick users into authenticating installation. As with any malware, suitable exploits could be used to facilitate installation if found.
Privilege escalation exploits are rare in Mac OS X so exploitation is unlikely to be used to completely install WYB based malware. Some degree of social engineering will be part of the installation process. This is also true for Windows malware generated from similar toolkits. But, Windows does have more privilege escalation vulnerabilities so exploitation is more likely to negate the need for social engineering to install malware even in properly configured Windows systems.
The developer of WYB is selling this toolkit for $1000 via internet forums. Let's hope the malware made using this toolkit is not profitable for those that purchase WYB so that developers of such toolkits are not able to maintain a market for their product. The only means to guarantee the lack of success of such malware that relies on social engineering is user knowledge given that AV software is never a complete solution.

We only have two sleds but I went with Hitachi Deskstar, HDS722020ALA330. There's a jumper on the back but it's unlabeled and mostly undocumented. I don't know what it does, and it didn't matter.
As a precaution, which I think was important, I put each drive on an SATA USB adapter with my MacBook and formatted them both to HFS+ with APM. Apparently the controllers hate GPT.
They both worked perfectly, much to my pleasant surprise.
Quick question guys....Do you mean 2gb's as in maximum for all the 3 sledge (1 gb/sledge)?
I took a part some of the external hd's i have around and realized that the hd connectors in the sledge are quite different from the pins on these Barracuda 7200..? are do these Hitachi Deskstar, HDS722020ALA330's have the same connectors? thanx

It is the unibody MacBook. Will it hurt anything to try installing it?
If your 2008 model does have DDR3 in it - that means it'll be compatible. It'll just downclock to 1067.
Try installing it and if the computer doesn't start up and/or sees performance issues just swap the old one back

Check the SMART data on the drive and do a short test:
http://www.volitans-software.com/smart_utility.php
Why does everyone keep using this program?? It is so unreliable.. I use something called disk radar and its 300 times better than voltans poc program. Either disk radar or DiskTools Pro - those are much better than using voltans garbage program.. for instance.. I got a 2TB drive a few days ago and already smart utility says its failing.. I call BS here and then I ran it under windows and using disktools pro and disk radar - the drive passed all tests and is NOT failing..
Stay away from smart utility - its a POC program (POC=Piece of crap).

Using passmark, since I just happened to have a very recent saved file.
Pre 2.1/Post 2.1
CPU Mark: 7658.1/7859.7
2D Mark: 786.9/797.2
3D Mark: 1205.2/1198.5
Memory Mark: 1227.3/1330.7
Disk Mark: 980.9/704.5
Only interesting result was the Disk Mark. I haven't changed any drivers, clocks or windows updates from 1 day to the next, so I'm not sure what this sharp in disk could be attributed too.
Broken Down
Pre2.1/Post2.1
Disk - Sequential Read: 80.0/74.8
Disk - Sequential Write: 136.7/82.7
Disk - Random Seek RW: 54.5/37.3
I have a Corsair SSD 128.
I'm going to do a full power cycle and repeat some of these tests just to make sure it's not my fault somehow.

Interesting, very interesting! Let's hope they also will bring out a version for the G5's. Also the folding on GPU's is coming quite well. Let's hope our electric bills don't go up when you have a dual/quad folding and two X1900 in SLI mode! :D
BTW Macaholic, how did you get sooooo much folding power?!? And are you folding for Team MR?!?
